    ROBERT A. WILD, M.D., M.P.H., Ph.D.

    I am a tenured Professor & Vice Chair for Research and Development in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology & Adjunct Professor of Family and Preventive Medicine and Biostatistics and Clinical Epidemiology School of Public Health at the Oklahoma University Health Sciences Center in Oklahoma City. I am Chief of the Gynecology Service at the VA Medical Center Oklahoma City. I am an experienced clinician and investigator with a focus on primary prevention strategies for women’s health combining Gynecology and Preventive Cardiology. I have devoted more than 30 years to patient care, research and higher education through teaching and mentoring Medical Students, Residents, Masters and PhD students, and fellow faculty. I am a national consultant in Ob/Gyn, Menopause, Reproductive Endocrinology and Preventive Cardiology.

    I am a board certified Obstetrician/Gynecologist, Reproductive Endocrinologist, Clinical Lipidologist, Preventive Cardiologist and Menopause Practitioner. I am consistently listed in Best Doctors in Oklahoma, Guide to America’s Best Obstetricians/Gynecologists and Best Doctors in America.

    I have held leadership positions and/or am a member in all of the major societies in these specialties. I am past president of the American Society of Preventive Cardiology, the Society of Reproductive Endocrinologists, and the Oklahoma City Obstetrical and Gynecological Society and I am a past council member of the Society of Reproductive Investigation. I serve on national committees for the North American Menopause Society, the National Lipid Association, and the NIH. I am an active reviewer for the National Institute of Health serving regularly on many Study Section and Review panels for the National Cancer Institute, the National Institute of Child Health and Human Development – both for the extramural and intramural branches - the National Institutes on Aging, NIDDK, NHLBI and the Office of Research on Women’s Health at the NIH. I am the only gynecologist to have received a Preventive Cardiology Award from the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute (NHLBI). I advise the Office of Women’s Health Research (ORWH) at the National Institutes of Health and the NHLBI and the Federal Drug Administration re Gynecologic and other Women’s Health issues. I am a funded investigator for the NICHD participating for our site in the Reproductive Medicine Network responsible for developing, analyzing within and conducting clinical trials in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility. As a clinician/ biostatistician I have expertise in analysis of correlated longitudinal data.

    My research interests include primary prevention strategies for women with a focus on Polycystic Ovary Syndrome, sex steroids, lipoprotein lipids and cardiovascular diseases. I teach Clinical Epidemiology/Biostatistics and Evidence Based Practice to residents, medical students, fellows and faculty at the Oklahoma University health Sciences Center.
